We were delighted to receive a cheque from the Woolie Wednesday’s of £522.80 which they have raised through their ‘Yarn Bomb’ at the college, this took place initially over Wyle Valley Arts week. The display was so popular that it remained up for weeks after the event, with members of the public fascinated by this amazing display of wool and crochet artwork. The ladies have been working on this project tirelessly for 2 years and have raised funds for the college by selling items from their display. The knitted squares from the project will be going to make blankets for the homeless so all parts of this art work will be used to benefit others.

The total is still rising and we are anticipating a total donation in the region of £600. All funds raised will go towards the New Indoor Equestrian Arena Project at Fairfield Farm College.

Work has begun on ideas for the next display but it’s all ‘top secret’, if you’re interested in learning more about this fabulous artwork then the Woolie Wednesday’s group can be found in Fairfield Farm Café on a Wednesday. Please contact the college on 01373 823028 for further details.
