SPORTS, SUNSHINE AND BUTTERFLIES - STUDENTS KEEPING BUSY AT FAIRFIELD FARM COLLEGE

Students at Fairfield Farm College have been learning about the life-cycle of Butterflies. Students will each have 4 Caterpillars each to watch develop. The Butterflies we are hatching are called Painted Ladies.

Students used the nice weather to help around the college to keep our animals well looked after, and tending to the garden and maintenance.

This week, students have been trying Rachel’s Star Jump Challenge. Instructions are below so you can have a go. Get your clocks, watches or phone timers at the ready, or just count the seconds.
There are lots more challenges, and some videos of this challenge, that students can access in PE in our Student Learning Area.
Challenge instructions:
In pairs (you perform, whilst the other person rests & cheers you on, then you swap) Try to do this to music and in the garden if possible.

  • 15 seconds
  • 30 seconds
  • 45 seconds
  • 60 seconds

If star-jumps are a bit tricky you could just jump or run/march on the spot. If you are a wheelchair user you could try to move your arms out, your legs up, whatever you can do you should try to do.
