Shop & Cafe Supervisor

Fairfield Farm College is an Independent Specialist College, which provides day and residential courses to young people aged 16-25 with learning disabilities.

We have an onsite café, farm shop and Post Office that is open to the public 7 days a week, all year round. During college term time, Monday to Friday our students work in the farm shop and café supported by teaching and learning staff. During weekends and college holidays, our retail team staff the farm shop, and café. The post office is staffed by our own team who are post office trained.

This is a varied role, which will be responsible for ensuring the effective running of our café and farm shop, providing assistance and excellent customer service to all our customers.
You will work mainly in our café supporting our educational staff and students to run our successful business. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all key business and retail processes and systems run smoothly.

It is a customer facing, busy hands on role as you will be required to carry out food preparation, serve customers, lead on checking of food management compliance, support staff training, lead on planning weekend and holiday staffing as well as general food and retail duties within the café and shop.

The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and be a real team player. We need someone who is willing to turn their hand to a variety of tasks throughout the working day.

You will work as part of the Retail team.

Your holiday entitlement will be 7.2 weeks per annum (pro rata). There is a pension scheme available for eligible staff.

Tutor – Functional Skills (English and Maths)

Fairfield Farm College is an Independent Specialist College that provides day and residential courses to young people with learning disabilities.

You will have experience of teaching functional English and from pre entry level through to GCSE ideally with young people with learning disabilities.

You should have a track record of achieving excellent outcomes in teaching. You must be able to develop the curriculum area in line with latest government policy. You will be responsible for evidencing learner progress and outcomes.

Additionally, you will be self-motivated and be able to work independently and prioritise workload. You will work as part of the Learning Team Your holiday entitlement will be 50 days per annum pro rata (to include bank holidays) and should be taken in college holiday periods.

There is a pension scheme available for eligible staff.

Job Coach

Fairfield Farm College is an Independent Specialist College which provides day and residential courses to young people with learning disabilities. The College are seeking to recruit a Job Coach to work with young people with learning difficulties and disabilities in order to enable them to pursue their ambitions in relation to gaining sustainable employment. The role would include building relationships with different areas of the college and potentially external and local employers to develop work related learning opportunities, experiences and placements.

You will understand how young people learn and use your skills systematically to support and scaffold all aspects of differing job roles.

You will have experience of working in a support role with students with learning disabilities.
