Farm Apprentice- Full Time (40 Hours)

Fairfield Farm College is an Independent Specialist College that provides day and residential courses to young people with learning disabilities.  The young people at Fairfield Farm College work across the whole site and learn a range of practical skills that can be applied in many workplaces.

The physical site comprises 26 acres, horticultural greenhouse, Farm Shop and Café, an Animal Walk and a range of cattle, livestock and small animals.

As a Farm Apprentice, you will be working across the whole site, including: Animal Management, Equine, Farming, Land Management, and Horticulture. You will support the Farm Team, organise farm administration, work machinery and manage any associated business.

Key to the successful running of the Farm would be your understanding and commitment to the standards and guidance set out by Government and regulatory bodies. Examples include the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA); or those bodies set out in the Farm regulators’ Charter including : Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs,  Forestry Commission, Food Standards Agency, Environment Agency, and Natural England

Your holiday entitlement of 30 days per annum (including bank holidays) will be taken in negotiation with the team and must be taken during the college term time.

There is a pension scheme available for eligible staff.

All staff are required to have a clear DBS check prior to starting work at the college.
