Supported Internships 

In addition to our full-time and residential programmes we offer supported internships as a transition from college to full time working.

You will spend most of your time in a range of work place settings that interest you and meet your long term work ambitions. Job coaches from the college Careers team will help you to settle in to your work placements. 

Supported Internship in collaboration with Wiltshire Employment Support Team (WEST)

This is a 3 day programme that works with young people to tailor and support them into a work placement. The programme runs from Fairfield Farm but is supported by professional Job Coaches.

Pre-Internship at Hope Nature Centre

An exciting new venture that allows young people to firstly to develop and apply the skills acquired at college in a purpose built Animal Park for young people with learning disabilities. The Centre comprises a 15 acre site with a range of exciting animals and activities for families, including a land train, animal walk, park area and cafe. Visit the website here.

Short Breaks 

If you are aged between 16 and 24 years and would like to learn to live independently, we offer flexible weekend and short breaks and respite to meet your needs. You can stay in one of our four houses and sometimes join existing residential students. Prices vary on length of stay.

Partnership Working

We work with local providers to offer a wide range of experiences from discreet courses, joining existing programmes and work experience.

Work Experience

We can accommodate young people with learning difficulties from local schools and colleges to undertake work experience at Fairfield Farm College.  Placements may form part of your weekly programme, as part of a course you are studying elsewhere or as a work experience week from local schools.  We can provide additional support, please contact us to ask about this, we may also ask you to provide your own support on some occasions.  If you would like to be considered for a placement please visit our website, there is usually a charge.

Holiday Activities

We offer weekly workshops through the holidays. These include: Dance, Art, Animal Care, Forest School and Gardening Club. Workshops cost £30 (including lunch). View our upcoming events here.

Youth Club

The youth club is for young people aged between 14 and 24 years, to get together, have fun and make new friends. It is currently every Thursday in term time, 7 – 9pm and costs £3.  Come along and join the fun!

College staff facilitate and supervise Youth Club attendees and activities. We cannot provide specific or additional support to attendees, this type of support must be provided by the young person by way of a Personal Assistant or external Support Worker.
